Our mission is to address the issue of sexual objectification of women in the media, specifically in advertisements featured in men’s magazines. We hope that because we draw attention to these images and ideas that both men and women can become wiser consumers and more media literate about women being portrayed as sex objects. Enjoy!

- WE ARE NOT SEX OJECTS :)
- Our mission is to address the issue of sexual objectification of women in the media, specifically in advertisements featured in men’s magazines. We have chosen to target ads in men’s magazines because they tend to be filled with more ads that sexually objectify women than other magazines. The images that we have posted feature women as objects, they are using a woman’s physical attractiveness, or display of body, and sexuality to sell products. We feel that it is necessary to address this issue because when women are sexually objectified it creates not only false and negative ideas of women but contributes to other issues such as gender inequality. We are not asking people to stop reading these magazines or stop consuming media in general. Our goals are to create awareness about this issue and help people become more media literate about the sexual objectification of women in magazine ads. So that we can accomplish these goals please take time to think about the ideas and information we posted and the questions we have asked you to consider. Thanks!

Answer these questions when you view the ads. By doing so you are practicing the 5 media literacy skills: description, analysis, interpretation, evaluation, and engagement. And when these skills are practiced it helps you become more media literate!
-What do these messages say? Do these advertisements achieve their goal? (analyze your descriptions)
-How do I interpret these messages? How might other consumers interpret these messages differently? (determine meanings of the messages)
-Can I relate these messages to the current views or ideas that I have? (form a personal opinion)
-What can I do now that I’m aware of the messages these advertisements are sending?

ffs i dnt care if it is "Marissa Miller", i dislike her straight away for she has no problem in encorouging the sexualization and objectification of women as sexual objects for men to enjoy. she needs to put some clothes on and gain some modesty!
